Rain.

The hardest rain we’ve seen in a long while hit Dumbarton the other day, causing flooding on the A82 meaning no-one could leave or enter Dumbarton.. This also meant that our gutters on the roof started to overflow and flood the park.

The reason this happens so easily is that the skatepark roof is designed so that the water runs down the roof and into gutters which lead along the length of the building, down a pipe and into the drains.. Being a really old building we dont think the drains were designed to handle so much water and combined with nesting seaguls blocking the drains, it causes the water to flow right into the park.

Luckily we can drain the water away pretty quickly and get the park back operating as usual again in no time.
